Our first stop was to the town Hall, where we learned about the building's history, met the mayor, and saw several rooms including the room where Board Meetings are held. Parents, it's a great idea to take your children to a board meeting (they are open to the public) so that they can see how local government works. School board meetings are also a great educational opportunity.
Then, we headed over to the police department.
We got to try on the gear vests that officers wear. Some kids thought they were heavy, others felt like it wasn't so bad! They all agreed it was fun, though.
Next, we met a detective who taught us how to use tape and a pencil to make your fingerprint!
Finally, we ended with the fire department. We learned so much and had a lot of fun!
