Sustainability: Incubating Eggs

The moment we have all been waiting for has arrived! The eggs are in their incubator and Upper Elementary students where the hens for the week, rotating the eggs four times a day. Following up on our embryonic development lesson, students learned the conditions that are essential for proper growth. These two factors are temperature and relative humidity. Some groups did eggciting fractions - making predictions of hatching rate and solving fraction word problems. Next week we will candle the eggs to see how many viable eggs we have.
