Sustainability: Maps and Chicks

We continued our study of maps this week by focusing our attention on topographic maps.  Students learned about contour line characteristics and how to make three-dimensional models based on contour lines.  Students then created topographic drawings based on three-dimensional land features they created.  They are now ready to start creating maps next week!

Chicken update:  they are growing big… fast!  They have been held regularly by students to help socialize them and teach children how to hold them properly.  They have outgrown their brooder and are now in the small coop with primary students in the dome.  Chickens in your classroom…. pretty cool.
