Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, a professor of psychology at Temple University and co-author of Becoming Brilliant: What Science Tells Us About Raising Successful Children, and who had been studying childhood development for almost 40 years, says that kids need the six C's to succeed — collaboration, communication, content, critical thinking, creative innovation and confidence.
Sound familiar? I hope so, because these are also the skills and habits we foster at DGS! These are at the core of who we are. Hirsh-Pasek says to put down the flash-cards, and stop worrying about getting your child ahead with drills and memorization. Want a healthy, successful, brilliant child? Focus on the six C's.
Oh... and send them to Davidson Green School. ;)
